Costco’s Tiramisu Cheesecake: A Must-Try Dessert

Costco’s Tiramisu Cheesecake: A Must-Try Dessert

Costco’s bakery section, located near the back of the store, is often a first stop for many shoppers — myself included. Among the store’s wide range of baked goods, a new dessert has quickly emerged as a standout: the Kirkland Signature Tiramisu Cheesecake.

I first heard about this dessert via an Instagram post from costcohotfinds, a popular fan account. The post went viral, capturing the attention of nearly 120,000 followers. Among those fans was TikTok’s The Sushi Guy, a self-proclaimed Costco enthusiast, who rated the dessert a 9.7 out of 10, dubbing it the “second best dessert” at Costco. Intrigued by the buzz, I set out to try it myself.

The Search for Costco’s Latest Dessert Sensation

Determined to sample this dessert, I visited two different Costco locations — the first was sold out! The hype surrounding this cheesecake was palpable, and I wasn’t going to leave empty-handed.

What You Need to Know About Kirkland Signature Tiramisu Cheesecake

Weighing in at 4.5 pounds, the Tiramisu Cheesecake is substantial, enough to make even the most seasoned Costco shoppers feel the weight of it in the checkout line. It’s a hefty cake, but at $23.99, it’s well worth the price, especially when you consider how many servings you get. The cheesecake can easily serve 12 people, bringing the cost per slice to under $2 — a bargain when compared to other desserts at the warehouse.

Unlike a traditional tiramisu, this dessert ditches the rum and ladyfingers. Instead, it combines the flavors of mascarpone and coffee with the richness of a classic cheesecake. This unique take on the Italian favorite immediately caught my attention.

The Taste Test: My Review of Kirkland Signature Tiramisu Cheesecake

From the very first bite, I could tell this was a dessert made to impress. The base ingredients of cream cheese and mascarpone cream ensured the cheesecake’s richness, but it’s the thoughtful combination of textures and flavors that set it apart. The whipped topping, reminiscent of Cool Whip, is light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness and coffee flavor. A dusting of powder on top elevates the dessert’s overall taste.

The cheesecake filling itself is velvety smooth, with a satisfying tang, thanks to the mascarpone, and a robust cold brew coffee flavor that balances out the richness. It’s the kind of dessert that’s so good, I could eat it by the spoonful — if only Costco sold it in a container.

The cake’s graham cracker crust also deserves special mention. Thick, buttery, and with a slight mocha and caramel flavor, it’s the perfect contrast to the creamy filling. This base truly makes the dessert stand out.

I cut myself a generous slice — about one-twelfth of the cake — and found myself returning to it throughout the evening. Despite my usual ability to finish off dessert in one sitting, I had to stop after a few more bites, feeling satisfied but not overwhelmed.

A Great Alternative for Special Occasions

I couldn’t help but think how perfect this cheesecake would be for special occasions. Its combination of tiramisu and cheesecake makes it an ideal dessert for a variety of tastes. It could easily replace a traditional Costco birthday cake, especially for those like my dad, who loves both tiramisu and cheesecake. It’s a versatile treat that works for any celebration, big or small.

In conclusion, the Kirkland Signature Tiramisu Cheesecake lives up to the hype. Its balance of flavors, creamy texture, and indulgent crust make it a dessert worth seeking out — just be prepared to go on a treasure hunt if your local Costco is sold out!
