SINGAPORE — The Tasting Australia festival, one of Australia’s longest-running celebrations of food and drink, is set to return in 2025 with a vibrant mix of over 150 events across South Australia. Running from May 2 to 11, this annual festival will offer visitors an unforgettable experience, from a Viking Age-inspired long table feast to casual Riesling tastings with local winemakers.
Last year, the festival attracted more than 78,000 visitors and featured over 100 sold-out events. This year promises even more culinary delights in destinations ranging from the iconic Barossa Valley, known for its premium wine production, to the Eyre Peninsula, famous for its fresh seafood.
The heart of the festival will be Town Square, located at Victoria Square in Adelaide’s city center. This bustling hub will feature free admission and a variety of food offerings from 15 vendors, including taqueria Braising Boy and the popular burger joint Gang Gang.
For those seeking more exclusive experiences, paid events will cover a broad spectrum. Highlights include the Sunday Supper Club (A$79 or S$67), offering four unique takes on the classic bolognese pasta, and the “Tasting Journey from Adelaide to Bordeaux & Hawke’s Bay” (A$50), a wine masterclass featuring 12 tastings and a cheese plate for each participant. Early booking is recommended as many experiences are already sold out.
While Tasting Australia is a major draw for food lovers, Australia is brimming with other exciting festivals throughout the year. For those seeking a cultural experience, CinefestOZ, a premier film festival, will take place from August 30 to September 7. The festival will showcase feature and short films, alongside workshops and activities in various venues across Western Australia, including cinemas, wineries, and galleries.
In Canberra, the annual spring celebration Floriade will be held from September 13 to October 12, with over one million flowers, including tulips, daisies, and poppies, in full bloom at Commonwealth Park. The 38th edition will feature family-friendly activities, art exhibitions, food stalls, and horticultural workshops. While entry to Floriade is free, some activities within the festival will have an additional charge.
