Krispy Kreme has officially confirmed a highly anticipated collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment to celebrate Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary. Fans had speculated about this partnership after a leak last month, and now, the doughnut chain has made it even sweeter with a chance to win prizes.
Launched on May 12, the limited-time collection is exclusive to U.S. locations and features three new doughnut flavors inspired by the iconic video game:
PAC-Man Party Doughnut: An Original Glazed® doughnut filled with yellow buttercreme, topped with celebration sprinkles and a PAC-MAN piece.
Team Ghost Doughnut: An unglazed doughnut filled with chocolate Kreme™, dipped in black icing, decorated with a Pac-Man maze, and topped with a Team Ghosts piece.
Strawberry Power Berry Doughnut: An unglazed doughnut filled with strawberry Kreme™, dipped in red icing, and topped with white sprinkles and green leaf icing.
The collaboration will also include special deals and freebies for customers. From May 12 to 14, guests can receive a free 10-count of Krispy Kreme’s transformed “Pac-Dots” with the purchase of any dozen doughnuts at regular price. On May 22, Pac-Man’s birthday, customers can enjoy a 25-cent Original Glazed doughnut with the purchase of a dozen.
Krispy Kreme is also offering fans the chance to unlock the return of the popular Strawberry Glazed Doughnut. If the company gives away 45,000 free Original Glazed doughnuts during “Hot Light hours” (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.), the Strawberry Glazed Doughnut will make a comeback.
The Pac-Man-themed doughnuts are available in participating Krispy Kreme stores, for pickup or delivery via the Krispy Kreme app and website. They can also be found in half-dozen boxes at retailers such as Target, Walmart, and ShopRite, while supplies last.
