DiGiorno, famous for its slogan “It’s not delivery,” is shifting its focus. The frozen pizza brand has introduced a new product line designed to taste like restaurant pizza made at home.
The company describes the latest offering as featuring “an all-new crust innovation that serves up the perfect bite of restaurant-quality pizza fresh from your kitchen.” The highlight is a wood-fired style crust, crafted to deliver an airy, chewy texture with a light char, aiming to elevate the frozen pizza experience.
The new line includes four flavors and is priced at a suggested $6.49 per pie. The varieties are:
Four Cheese: Topped with mozzarella, Romano, Asiago, and Parmesan.
Italian Meat Trio: Features pepperoni, salami, and Italian sausage.
Premium Pepperoni: A classic favorite.
Supreme: Includes pepperoni, sausage, onions, and a mix of green, yellow, and red peppers.
DiGiorno claims the artisan crust is key to the new product’s appeal. The goal is to give customers a pizza that feels like dining out, without leaving home.
A taste test of the new pizza confirmed improvements over many frozen options. While not quite restaurant-level, it outperforms most frozen pizzas, including other DiGiorno products. The only exception is DiGiorno’s Detroit-style crust, which has earned praise from even lifelong East Coast pizza fans.
Baking the pizza directly on the oven rack delivered a pillowy interior with a crisp, satisfying outer bite. The Italian Meat Trio stood out as a favorite. Unlike many meat-heavy frozen pizzas, it was not greasy or overly dense, offering a balanced flavor profile.
While some might wish for more generous toppings, the crust remains the main attraction. For consumers who value texture and a good crust above all, this new DiGiorno line is a strong contender in the frozen pizza aisle.
Kimberly Holowiak, Senior Brand Manager at DiGiorno, highlighted the product’s innovation. “This new crust offers everything people love about wood-fired pizza—the crisp, the chew, the char—all without ever leaving the house or using a pizza oven,” she said in a statement. “This new pizza is yet another example of how we’re pushing the frozen category and meeting people’s dynamic tastes.”
