Haiti Relief Efforts Expand
The World Food Programme (WFP) has significantly stepped up aid efforts in Haiti, where close to 10,000 hot meals were distributed to about 5,000 displaced individuals in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area over Monday and Tuesday. According to a deputy spokesperson, WFP is transitioning from hot meals to cash-based transfers for the displaced population. Already, more than 37,000 people have received cash assistance, with plans to extend aid to over 95,000 individuals in the coming weeks. The agency continues food distributions in Cité Soleil, with a goal to reach 95,000 people by the week’s end. Additionally, WFP’s school meal programs have benefited 195,000 school children across Haiti, with new distributions planned in Gressier following recent violent incidents .

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine, Denise Brown, has condemned the relentless attacks on Kharkiv and the surrounding region, emphasizing the urgent need for international support in response to this humanitarian crisis.
