Fritos has officially launched a new flavor in its popular Twists line, and fans are already buzzing with excitement. The new Lime & Jalapeño Fritos Twists are beginning to appear on store shelves nationwide this week, according to the brand.
The spiral-shaped corn chips were first spotted at convenience store chains like 7-Eleven, with customers sharing photos on social media and expressing enthusiasm about the spicy new addition.
Rumors of the flavor surfaced three months ago when a Reddit user posted a photo of what they described as a “test bag” found on eBay. The post referenced an article by Sporked, which cited an anonymous source claiming that Frito-Lay would release two Twists varieties in May: the returning Queso Twists and the new Lime & Jalapeño.
Now confirmed, the Lime & Jalapeño Twists are hitting shelves as predicted. Instagram food blogger @KDSnackFinds was among the first to share a sighting of the snack in stores, writing, “7-Eleven came thru” in a caption that quickly drew responses from eager fans.
“I can’t wait to try it,” one follower wrote, while another said, “Just tried this yesterday. It’s good.”
A Fritos spokesperson confirmed the rollout in a statement to Parade, describing the new flavor as delivering “a hearty crunch with a blend of jalapeño and a hint of lime.” The product is available in two sizes: a 9.25-ounce bag for $5.89 and a 3.375-ounce bag for $2.69.
However, the flavor will only be available for a limited time. The company has not yet announced how long the chips will remain on shelves.
Fans are encouraged to grab a bag while supplies last.
