Wendy’s is adding extra spice to its menu this summer with the launch of the Takis Fuego Meal, featuring bold flavors and a fan-favorite snack.
Food blogger Markie Devo shared the news on May 14 via Instagram, exciting fans with a preview of the upcoming release. The meal includes the Fuego Chicken Sandwich and Fuego Fries, which are expected to arrive at Wendy’s locations nationwide in late June.
According to Devo, the Fuego Chicken Sandwich includes a spicy chicken fillet topped with chili lime and cheddar cheese sauce, crushed Takis Fuego chips, and creamy corn spread, all served on a toasted bun. The Fuego Fries come with a packet of lime seasoning to sprinkle on top.
Fans on social media quickly reacted to the announcement with enthusiasm. Comments ranged from “CAN’T WAIT LOVE TAKIS ON EVERYTHING” to playful warnings about the meal’s fiery effects. One user joked, “Talk about heaven on Earth (but hell in our guts),” while another said, “This with Grape Fanta will be the best combo ever.”
The Takis Fuego Meal is a limited-time offering and part of Wendy’s “100 Days of Summer” campaign, which aims to attract more young customers during the warmer months.
“Takis connects with Gen Z customers,” said Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner, according to Food Business News. “It’s multicultural. It drives traffic into our restaurants. The secret is how you build on that and turn it into innovation that creates brand love.”
