Trolli is preparing to launch a bold new twist on its signature sour gummies with a Mountain Dew-inspired flavor, officially confirming a collaboration between the two popular brands.
Speculation about the partnership began last fall when reports surfaced of a Mountain Dew-flavored Trolli candy in development. Now, the collaboration has been confirmed to go both ways—while Mountain Dew plans its own Trolli-flavored soda, Trolli is crafting a new gummy candy based on the citrus soft drink.
Food bloggers SnackWithZach and TeamSupernovaFB were among the first to uncover the collaboration, sharing a sneak peek on Instagram during the Sweets & Snacks Expo, one of the largest events in the confectionery industry. The same event showcased other major product debuts, including Dr Pepper Tic Tacs, new Butterfinger varieties, and Nutella’s first new flavor.
In response to the growing buzz, a spokesperson for Trolli confirmed the partnership in a statement to Parade. “Trolli continues to push the boundaries of the gummy candy industry through innovative flavor combinations and exciting collaborations,” the representative said. “While we can confirm the buzz around a Trolli and Mountain Dew partnership in the works, we’re not quite ready to share all the delicious details just yet.”
The new Trolli Sour Mountain Dew Crawlers will soon join the brand’s growing portfolio of inventive products, though no official release date has been announced.
In the meantime, fans of sour candy can explore other recent launches, including Trolli’s new Sour Brite Squad, Fruit Riot’s limited-edition “Extreme Sour,” WarHeads’ Atomic Fizz, and Haribo’s Tropical Twin Snakes.
More details on the Trolli–Mountain Dew collaboration are expected soon.
