Simultaneously, the WFP has issued an urgent appeal for $17.3 million, citing the critical need to address the worsening situation over the next four weeks.
Amid growing concerns over dwindling supplies, the WFP has taken swift action. On Monday, the organization successfully delivered ready-to-eat food to 73,000 people in Gaza. Furthermore, the WFP has initiated cash-transfers to benefit 164,000 individuals in both Gaza and the West Bank, allowing them to purchase essential food items from local shops.
The agency remains deeply concerned about the precarious state of their supplies. With a view to addressing this challenge, the WFP is fervently awaiting the replenishment of food stocks, which is contingent upon the opening of humanitarian corridors.
In the coming days, the WFP is determined to extend its reach by distributing food to an estimated 300,000 individuals residing in host communities. To bolster their efforts, the organization intends to offer cash-based platforms to humanitarian partners, ensuring a more efficient and streamlined process for delivering aid.
