McDonald’s is giving night owls something to celebrate. Starting this summer, the fast-food giant is extending late-night hours at most of its U.S. locations.
In a recent statement, a McDonald’s spokesperson confirmed that “a vast majority” of restaurants across the country will remain open until midnight or later. The new hours will roll out nationwide over the summer and are expected to continue throughout the year.
Most of McDonald’s regular menu will be available during these extended hours, though some menu availability may vary by location. Franchise owners will have flexibility in deciding what to offer late at night. That means fans can likely grab favorites like McFlurries or the new Chicken Strips with tangy dipping sauce well past midnight. However, it remains unclear whether breakfast items will be included in the extended service.
Some locations, such as those inside airports, shopping malls, or highway rest stops, may not follow the new schedule due to their unique operating constraints.
This update comes as part of a broader series of changes at McDonald’s. Recent announcements include the addition of CosMc’s items to standard menus, the permanent introduction of real lemonade, and improvements to breakfast offerings. The company is also moving forward with its expansion plans for CosMc’s, a smaller-format spin-off brand.
For late-night cravings, McDonald’s is aiming to become an even more reliable stop—well into the early hours.
