A fast food rivalry is heating up this summer as Popeyes and McDonald’s go head-to-head over a fan-favorite item: Snack Wraps.
McDonald’s recently announced via X (formerly Twitter) that its beloved Snack Wraps will return nationwide on July 10, a move that instantly stirred excitement among fans. But it didn’t take long for Popeyes to respond. In a cheeky post on the same platform, the Louisiana-based chain simply wrote: “Y’all good?”—a subtle but bold jab that quickly went viral, racking up over 200,000 likes.
Fans were quick to take sides in what’s now being dubbed the “Great Snack Wrap Feud of 2025.”
“Y’all have blackened chicken tender wraps… we know who the real winner is,” one user wrote in support of Popeyes. Another chimed in, “We all know they brought it back because you came out with your own.” One fan even compared the battle to a legendary music rivalry: “This is like the East Coast vs. West Coast rappers battle all over again.”
Popeyes may have sparked the competition earlier this year by launching its own Chicken Wrap. Similar to McDonald’s version, the wrap features hand-breaded chicken tenders in a 9-inch tortilla with lettuce, pickles, and shredded cheese. Customers can choose from three flavors: Classic, Spicy, or Honey Mustard.
With Burger King also offering its own take on Snack Wraps, fast food fans are enjoying a growing variety of handheld chicken wraps this summer. And for once, the real winners may be the consumers—who now have more tasty choices than ever before.
Whether you’re team Popeyes, McDonald’s, or somewhere in between, one thing is certain: the Snack Wrap wars are on, and the heat is only rising.
