Sonic is set to launch a new limited-time offering called the Big Dill Meal, a pickle-themed menu that has divided fans.
Food blogger Snackolator shared the news on Instagram on Monday, June 9, calling the new pickle menu “absolutely wild.”
The Big Dill Meal features a Big Dill Sonic Smasher burger made with Grillo’s Hot Chips, dill pickle crispy cucumbers, and dilly ranch sauce. Customers can choose a side of pickle-seasoned tots or Groovy Fries, along with a Picklerita Slush drink, which includes “pickle-flavored bursting bubbles.”
The meal is expected to arrive in July, though Sonic has yet to announce an exact release date.
Snackolator praised the menu, saying, “This is how you absolutely nail the theme of a meal,” and asked followers if they planned to try the new pickle items.
Fans’ responses were mixed. Some expressed excitement, with comments like “OMG” and “Need that.” Others were skeptical, particularly about the Picklerita Slush. One user said, “Tots yes. Samich no. Drink hell no,” while another added, “I’ll try the burger and seasoned tots, but I’m not feeling the slush drink.”
Some fans were disappointed by Sonic’s removal of pickle fries, with one commenting, “All this pickle and they got rid of the pickle fries? Sonic is dead to me.” Another user described the meal as “disgusting.”
