Zizzi has issued a recall of its Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni Rustica Pizza after discovering it may contain milk that is not listed on the label. The undeclared ingredient poses a potential health risk to individuals with a milk allergy or intolerance.
The affected product is the 400g Zizzi Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni Rustica Pizza with an 8ml chilli oil sachet. It carries the batch code 5105 and a best-before date of July 15, 2026.
According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the company is recalling the product from customers and has been advised to alert allergy support organisations. These groups will inform their members about the recall. Zizzi has also issued point-of-sale notices to explain the situation to shoppers.
In a public notice, Zizzi stated: “We are recalling Zizzi Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni Rustica Pizzas due to potential contamination with milk.”
What Should Customers Do?
Consumers who have purchased the affected product and have a milk allergy, intolerance, or sensitivity are advised not to eat it. Instead, the item can be returned to the store for a full refund—no receipt is required.

Understanding Food Recalls
When a food product presents a safety risk, it may be withdrawn from sale or recalled from customers. The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices or Product Recall Information Notices to notify consumers and local authorities. In more serious cases, a “Food Alert for Action” is released, instructing local authorities on specific steps to protect public health.
