Sonic Drive-In has introduced a new addition to its summer lineup: Sweet Topped Lemonades, combining bold flavors with a mission to support education.
The new beverages, announced Tuesday, come just a week after the debut of Sonic’s Cheesy Garlic Pepperoni Bites and the return of two seasonal fan favorites — Watermelon and Lemonberry Slushies.
Sweet Topped Lemonades feature an all-natural lemonade base finished with a layer of cold, sweet foam. The drinks are available in three flavors: Classic, Strawberry, and Blueberry Lavender.
The Classic version highlights the tartness of lemonade with a creamy cold foam topping. The Strawberry Lemonade adds real strawberries for a fruitier twist. For those seeking a unique option, the Blueberry Lavender version blends lemonade with a floral and berry flavor.
Beyond refreshing flavors, the launch also supports a larger cause. For every lemonade purchased, Sonic contributes to its Limeades for Learning® initiative, which funds public school classrooms across the United States. The program provides essential resources to educators and students.
Additionally, Sonic has partnered with First Book, a nonprofit that distributes books and educational materials to children in need. Together, they plan to donate 100,000 books to underserved students.
To promote reading alongside its new drinks, Sonic has teamed up with three bestselling authors — Abby Jimenez (Say You’ll Remember Me), Ashley Poston (Sounds Like Love), and Christina Lauren (The Paradise Problem). The authors will help highlight the connection between summer refreshment and summer reading.
“This partnership isn’t just about the ultimate summer sip; it’s about fueling a lifelong love of reading,” said Stuart Brown, executive director of the Inspire Brands Foundation. “Every Sweet Topped Lemonade helps students get the tools they need, turning the page toward a brighter future.”
Sweet Topped Lemonades are available now through the Sonic app, with a full nationwide release scheduled for Monday, June 2.
