7Up has officially announced the return of its fan-favorite Shirley Temple soda, confirming the flavor will be available for a limited time starting this fall.
The news first surfaced when food blogger Markie Devo received a tip that the once-divisive but now beloved flavor would be making a comeback. Parade later confirmed the information with a spokesperson from the soft drink brand, who stated via email, “7Up Shirley Temple will be returning this Fall.”
No further details, including specific dates or distribution plans, have been shared at this time. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from expressing their excitement on social media.
“This is fantastic news!! Me and my son loved it. We were so disappointed it was limited,” one user replied to the blogger’s post. Another asked, “Why isn’t this offered year-round?! It was soooo goooood!!!!”
Many shared similar sentiments, noting how difficult it was to find the soda before it disappeared from shelves. “I loved this one,” a fan wrote. “The zero was good, and I was only able to find it once.” Others said they missed it entirely the first time or went through a full case quickly.
Although fans will have to wait a few more months for the Shirley Temple flavor to return, 7Up recently released a new limited-edition flavor just in time for summer. The new variety, called Endless Summer Watermelon & Strawberry, has started appearing at Kroger and affiliated stores, including Ralphs, Dillons, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, and more.
Like the Shirley Temple version, the summer release will only be available while supplies last.
