Burger King is heating up its summer menu with a limited-time lineup inspired by the upcoming live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie. Beginning Tuesday, May 27, fans can experience what the fast-food giant calls a “trip to the Isle of Berk” with four dragon-themed items developed in partnership with Universal Pictures.
The new offerings blend flavor and fun, promising a fiery adventure for fans of the franchise and food lovers alike. According to Burger King, each menu item gives a taste of the film’s fantasy world, with bold ingredients and themed packaging.
Here’s what’s coming to the menu:
Dragon Flame-Grilled Whopper: This revamped Whopper features a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty on a red-and-orange-marbled bun, naturally colored with spices and vegetables. It’s topped with American cheese, crispy bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mayo.
Fiery Dragon Mozzarella Fries: A spicy twist on a classic side, these fries are coated in Fiery Calabrian chili pepper breading and include melty mozzarella and diced peppers. The snack is served in a special carton inspired by Toothless, the franchise’s fan-favorite dragon.
Soaring Strawberry Lemonade: A seasonal drink made with real fruit juice, offering a refreshing burst of strawberry flavor to match the summer vibe.
Viking’s Chocolate Sundae: For dessert, BK is serving vanilla soft-serve topped with HERSHEY’S® chocolate syrup and black-and-green cookie crumbles, resembling the Viking aesthetic.
“At BK, we love to bring partnerships to life that create an awesome experience for families,” said Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer for Burger King US&C. “Our team has created a delicious menu inspired by the beloved characters and themes of this exciting new movie that brings that experience to Burger King restaurants.”
Early reactions to the collaboration have been overwhelmingly positive. Food blogger @markie_devo joked on Instagram, “I’d train my dragon to go through the drive-thru at BK for me,” while other fans expressed excitement, calling the menu “so cool” and “cute.”
Some are already hoping for collectible toys to accompany the promotion, with reports suggesting Europe may receive dragon-themed paper puzzles. U.S. fans are hoping for traditional plastic action figures.
The limited-time menu will be available at participating Burger King locations nationwide starting May 27. The new How to Train Your Dragon film flies into theaters on Friday, June 13.
