Nescafé is embracing a viral drink trend by officially endorsing a unique summer hack that mixes espresso with lemonade.
On Monday, the coffee brand announced it tested the popular combination—sparked by TikTok videos showing espresso shots poured over tart lemonade—and developed a limited-edition collaboration with beverage company Swoon. The result is the new Espresso Lemonade Kit.
This unexpected blend, which originated at Rhode Island’s TikTok-famous Nitro Bar, has caught the attention of Gen Z consumers. Nescafé described the drink as “simple yet flavorful,” “equal parts nostalgic and new,” and “the perfect adult spin on your childhood lemonade stand.” The company predicts it will be a top drink trend this summer.
The limited-time kit includes one 300ml bottle of Nescafé’s Espresso Concentrate Black and two 12-ounce cans of Swoon’s Classic Lemonade. It also offers a sweeter version featuring a 300ml bottle of Nescafé’s Espresso Concentrate Sweet Vanilla for those who prefer a creamier taste.
“We’re always looking for fresh, unexpected ways to tap into trends that capture Gen Z’s attention,” said Felipe Acosta, Nescafé’s senior brand marketing manager. “Our limited-time Espresso Lemonade kit, created with SWOON®, delivers a bold and refreshing combo that makes summer even sweeter.”
Acosta added that Nescafé plans to continue innovating with new ways for espresso lovers to customize their iced coffee drinks throughout the summer and beyond.
The Espresso Lemonade Kits will be available exclusively through three online drops, while supplies last. Customers can purchase the kits at noon ET on June 13, June 20, and June 27 via the collaboration’s dedicated landing page.
For those who miss out on the kits, Nescafé shared a simple recipe to make the drink at home: mix 2 tablespoons of NESCAFÉ® Espresso Concentrate Black with a 12-ounce can of SWOON® Classic Lemonade over ice and stir.
