Costco has added another dessert to its growing bakery lineup, and fans of fruity treats have reason to celebrate. The wholesale giant has just introduced a new Peaches & Cream Cake, a follow-up to its popular Strawberries & Cream Cake, which launched last month.
The new dessert was first spotted by popular Instagram account @costcohotfinds, which shared a video showing off the cake’s layers of peach filling and light whipped cream. Priced at $18.99, the Peaches & Cream Cake is described as airy, refreshing, and not overly sweet.
“The cake and whipped cream layers are so light on this one, and if you love peaches, you are going to love it,” said Laura Jayne Lamb, the creator behind the @costcohotfinds account.
Shoppers are already reacting positively to the release. One Instagram user said they struggled to choose between the new peach cake and the original strawberry version. Another commented, “I bought this yesterday and half is gone already. That peach gives it a little sour punch. Great combined with the whipped cream.”
The launch comes at a time when some Costco customers have voiced disappointment over recent changes to other bakery items, such as the updated muffin recipe. But the new peach dessert may help sweeten opinions.
Haven’t made it to Costco yet? Peach lovers can still enjoy the flavor at home with seasonal recipes like a no-bake Peach Melba or a classic peach crumble topped with ice cream.
