CHICAGO — Breyers, best known for its classic ice cream, is introducing an unexpected new product — and it’s not frozen dessert. The beloved brand has unveiled the “S’mores Freezerpit,” a firepit-inspired cooler designed to keep treats cold while offering a creative alternative to traditional campfire gatherings.
Shaped like a stone firepit but engineered to stay ice-cold, the Freezerpit is made to store Breyers’ Campfire Collection — a line of s’mores-flavored ice cream, bars, and sandwiches made with Hershey’s chocolate. The design allows fans to enjoy s’mores-style treats without the heat, making it ideal for warm-weather fun.
“Many people assume that the marshmallow-roasted taste of s’mores can only be found around a firepit,” said Bentley King, Head of U.S. Ice Cream at Unilever. “The Breyers Freezerpit makes that joy possible, even in the middle of a city. This experience is a perfect example of how the brand helps create simple moments for families and friends to come together and make memories.”
To celebrate the launch, Breyers is bringing a life-size version of the Freezerpit to Maggie Daley Park in Chicago on Friday, May 30. From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. CT, visitors can enjoy acoustic music, themed seating, and free samples of the Campfire Collection while supplies last. The setup includes special effects like faux smoke for a full campfire experience.
For fans outside Chicago, Breyers is also hosting a sweepstakes starting Monday, June 2. Participants can enter online to win a Mini Freezerpit, a pint of Campfire Collection S’mores ice cream, and four custom spoons inspired by roasting skewers. The contest runs through Friday, June 13.
With this new campaign, Breyers aims to bring the joy of summer s’mores to fans across the country — no campfire required.
