McDonald’s is reportedly bringing back a limited-time item for a new consumer test, sparking excitement among fans. According to foodie influencer Mouth Attack, the fast-food giant is running a very limited test of the Blueberry McGriddle in Houston, Texas. This version features the usual McGriddle ingredients—sausage, egg, and cheese—but with blueberry-flavored griddle cakes.
The Blueberry McGriddle was first tested in the Washington, D.C. area in 2019. Back then, the pancake-style buns had real blueberries baked into the maple-flavored cakes, rather than just blueberry flavoring.
Many fans were surprised to learn about this fruity twist on the classic breakfast sandwich. One wrote, “I never knew they had a blueberry one!!!” Another asked, “Back?!? How tf did I miss this?” while a third added, “Bring back? Where tf was I at.” A self-described McGriddle connoisseur demanded, “Why is this the first time I’m finding out this existed!”
The response was mostly enthusiastic, with fans eager to try the new variation. One assured McDonald’s, “Ain’t no need to do a test run, run ’em.” Another urged, “Give me 15 right now.”
Some McGriddle fans also shared ideas for future flavors. Suggestions included a chocolate chip McGriddle and a strawberry version.
However, not all reactions were positive. Some fans expressed frustration that McDonald’s is focusing on limited-time items instead of bringing back the popular Snack Wraps. One wrote, “Here we go again! Releasing everything but the snack wraps…” Another declared, “Only thing they need to be bringing back is the snack wraps!! They’re playing with our faces at this point.”
For now, the Blueberry McGriddle test is limited to Houston, leaving fans hoping it will expand if the trial is successful.
