Basketball fans hosting an NBA Finals watch party may have a chance to score free food, thanks to Chipotle’s latest promotion.
On Monday, June 2, Chipotle announced a new campaign called Chipotle Instant Freeplays, offering fans the opportunity to win a free entrée during live broadcasts of the NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The giveaway is tied to Coach’s Challenges, which each team can use once per game to request a video review of certain violations, such as personal fouls, out-of-bounds calls, goaltending, or basket interference.
To make these often lengthy review periods more engaging, Chipotle will post hints on its official X account (@ChipotleTweets) during each challenge. Each post will include a hidden keyword. The first 5,000 fans to text that keyword to 888222 will receive a code redeemable for a free entrée.
“Having the game come to a halt and watching referees review a play over and over again is rarely enjoyable,” said Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s President and Chief Brand Officer. “We want fans to have fun throughout the game, so we are offering a chance to score free Chipotle during Coach’s Challenge reviews.”
The free entrée codes are valid for five days and can be used on any regularly priced item, subject to availability. The offer is only available in the United States.
Eligible entrées include burritos, bowls, tacos, salads, and quesadillas.
