Weeks after rumors surfaced, Oreo has officially confirmed its latest celebrity collaboration—this time with singer and actress Selena Gomez. The limited-edition flavor, inspired by Gomez’s childhood love for horchata, marks the brand’s second major artist partnership of the year, following a release with Post Malone.
The special-edition cookie is crafted to reflect the creamy, spiced flavor of traditional horchata. According to Oreo, the cookie features a layer of chocolate and cinnamon-flavored creme stacked atop a sweetened condensed milk creme, with cinnamon sugar pieces mixed in. The filling is sandwiched between two chocolate-cinnamon-flavored wafers.
“Making my own OREO cookie was a lot of fun,” Gomez said in a statement. “I grew up loving them, so being able to be a part of the process was a full-circle moment. I wanted it to feel comforting and nostalgic. The cinnamon flavor gives it this horchata feel, and I’m excited for my fans to try it.”
The collaboration also includes unique design elements. Each pack will feature six special cookie embossments that reference Gomez’s music and fandom, such as “Selenators” and “Heart on Fire,” inspired by her Spanish-language song “De Una Vez.” In a first for the brand, select cookies will feature Gomez’s signature, making it the first Oreo cookie ever to carry an autograph.
Beyond the flavor and design, the project supports a meaningful cause. A portion of proceeds from the cookie sales will benefit youth mental health programs through the Rare Impact Fund, founded by Gomez in 2020.
In addition, Oreo hinted at a surprise musical twist: a collaborative remix with Gomez is expected to be released, though details are still under wraps.
“This collaboration taps into Selena’s cultural roots, fan base, and musical journey, elevating Oreo’s presence in pop culture,” said Michelle Deignan, VP of Oreo U.S. “It shows our commitment to creating fun, unexpected moments for fans while expanding our connection to the music world.”
Pre-orders for the Oreo x Selena Gomez cookies begin online on June 2. They’ll hit shelves across the U.S. on June 9, with international launches to follow in Canada, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. Oreo also teased possible surprise drops in other countries—available only while supplies last.
