Food Union Latvia Unveils 11 New Ice Creams For Summer 2025, Embracing Innovation And Global Trends

RIGA, Latvia — As warm weather returns, Food Union Latvia, the country’s top dairy processor, is launching 11 new ice cream products for the summer season. With a focus on unique flavors, health-conscious options, and creative formats, the company has invested nearly €500,000 in the development and release of these frozen treats.

The new lineup includes products made from traditional milk and cream, as well as lighter alternatives like kefir and vegan coconut milk. The aim, according to Ģirts Liniņš, Brand Manager for Ice Cream at Food Union Latvia, is to bring global trends to the local market and offer something for every kind of consumer.

“We’re introducing never-before-seen flavors and textures, including our first-ever vegan Pols product,” said Liniņš. “We want this summer to be about both excitement and innovation.”

Pols Leads with Five New Products

The nostalgic and popular brand Pols takes the lead with five new offerings:

A white glaze ice cream on a stick with chocolate cookie bits.
A peanut butter cone.
A coconut bar with coconut flakes.
A cream ice cream sandwich with raspberry sauce between whole grain oat cookies.
The first vegan Pols ice cream on a stick, made with premium coconut milk.

“These are fun, bold products that remain true to the spirit of Pols,” said Liniņš.

Vēsma Introduces Kefir-Based Cones

The Vēsma brand, known for lighter desserts, adds two kefir-based waffle cone options this year:

Kefir ice cream with strawberry sauce.
Kefir ice cream with blueberry sauce.

Kefir, a fermented dairy product known for its health benefits, offers a tangy and refreshing flavor. These additions align with growing international interest in functional and fermented foods.

Ekselence Elevates the Dessert Experience

Premium brand Ekselence is rolling out three sophisticated ice creams on a stick:

Peanut butter in a double chocolate glaze.
Cream with pomegranate-raspberry sauce, also double-glazed.
Cream with pecans and maple syrup.

“These elegant desserts are designed for indulgence and make for a perfect personal treat or gift,” said Liniņš.

Tio Adds Banana Flavor

Lastly, the Tio cocktail ice cream brand introduces a new banana flavor—a global favorite. The new variant joins Tio’s existing cream and chocolate lineup and is ideal for making colorful scoops or mixing into homemade cocktails.
