Summer may not officially be here, but fast food chains are already celebrating the season with new menu items, and Dairy Queen is leading the charge with a Superman-inspired treat.
As part of its summer menu, Dairy Queen has launched the “Superman” Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard, a vibrant blue dessert made with sugar cookie dough, cake batter, and sprinkles blended into their signature soft serve. The blue hue is a nod to Superman’s iconic suit, making it a fun and action-packed addition to the lineup.
This new Blizzard is a tie-in with the upcoming Warner Bros. Superman film, joining other summer treats like the Mixing Bowl Mashup Blizzard and Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard. Returning fan favorites such as the S’mores Blizzard, Confetti Cake Blizzard, and Cotton Candy Blizzard are also back for a limited time.
While many are excited about the new Superman-themed dessert, some Midwesterners are expressing mixed feelings. One Reddit user joked, “Cries in Midwestern. This is not Superman ice cream,” referring to the regional favorite Superman ice cream, which is typically made with red, blue, and yellow flavors representing the superhero’s colors.
Despite the differences, Dairy Queen’s Superman Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard is gaining attention, with fans praising its delicious flavor. The Blizzard is available nationwide in a limited-edition “Superman” cup.
In addition to the new dessert, Dairy Queen has introduced a few savory options this summer, including the new Buffalo Sauced & Tossed Chicken Strip Basket, featuring spicy chicken strips, fries, Texas toast, and dipping sauce. Starting June 23, the popular $7 Cheeseburger Meal Deal will return, offering a full meal with a side, drink, and sundae. For just $2 more, customers can upgrade to include a Blizzard, including the new Superman flavor.
With blockbuster collaborations and new menu items, Dairy Queen’s summer offerings are already shaping up to be a hit.
