But the brand’s recent release is causing a stir for all the wrong reasons.
Instead of a new candy bar, Snickers has launched a pudding and pie filling mix, and it’s making waves in the baking aisle at Dollar Tree and Walmart. This pudding, which promises to replicate the “classic taste of Snickers Milk Chocolate with roasted peanuts, rich caramel, and nougat flavors,” doesn’t quite hit the mark—it contains no peanuts at all.
Spotted at Walmart for just $1.48 per box, YouTuber Tami Dunn and her husband Kevin gave it a try after finding it at their local store. Making the pudding was simple: just mix the powder with cold milk, refrigerate for five minutes, and it’s ready to serve.
Unfortunately, their reaction was far from glowing. “It kind of has this weird fake peanut flavor, and it’s a little salty,” Kevin said, with Tami quickly declaring it “terrible” after just one bite.
Despite their less-than-enthusiastic response, some Walmart reviewers had more positive things to say, particularly when using the mix as a pie filling. “I used this as a pie filling, and oh my word, was it amazing,” one reviewer wrote. Another chimed in, saying their “family loved the pie I made with this pudding.”
Over on Reddit, the product sparked a thread full of reactions. Some were excited, calling it “a great addition to the Snickers family,” while others weren’t as impressed, with comments like “the worst taste and bad aftertaste,” “gross,” and “chemical-tasting.”
While this Snickers pudding may not live up to the candy bar’s legacy for some, if you’re craving that Snickers flavor in a new way, you could try making a Snickers Apple Salad instead. It combines Snickers with apples and an instant pudding and Cool Whip mixture—always a hit at gatherings.
For those who aren’t sold on the Snickers pudding, there’s also a Milky Way version available, which might be more to your taste.
